I came home from Tanzania just a few days ago where I had the opurtunity to go fishing on lake Victoria. We didn't have a scale with us but we estimated the nileperch to weigh about 20 kg. The biggest the guide had caught was a monster of 98 kg! Overfishing (by industrial fishing) the last decade has reduced the population of fish in Lake Victoria but our guide told us it was now picking up again, since many companies started realising what was happening. We caught this one after only half an hour of fishing and released it back again.
Here are some photos from Centralafrican Republic, from earlier years; Catfish and Tigerfish caught in eastern part of the country, Chinko and Kocho rivers.
